These halves are not literal and are to be spread throughout. You should create one sentence that contains all the qualities of the assignment, a sentence in which you are caught doing something that doesn't make any rational sense at all. Put the sentence at the end, then start writing the piece from the beginning, with the goal of reaching the absurd sentence in such a way that it is completely explained. The piece should contain travel and food. Do not pepper the piece with humor. Keep it straight and go after the big laugh at the end rather than a bunch of smaller laughs along the way. "How I Spent my Summer Vacation" contains my fulfillment of this assignment I gave myself. Read it and see if you can figure out which sentence I wrote first.
